Cityshuttle offers 3 clear business models to a £100bn addressable market.

Regulations and costs are rising in the UK’s urban areas (e.g. London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone). These put pressure both on civilian transport and supply chains. Cityshuttle addresses this with its truly game-changing range of products within the EAPC (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) market – focusing on E-cargo solutions, urban transport and Digital out of Home Advertising (DOOH).

Margins-based businesses in low-emission zones could suffocate from increasing regualation without a new logistics model. Last Mile Delivery accounts for 53% of total shipping costs (even more) in places like London. Cityshuttle provides an answer.

With £1m raised to date and a company valuation of £20m, Cityshuttle offers 3 clear business models to a £100bn addressable market. The EAPC models not only emit zero emissions – side-stepping charges on polluting vehicles – but they can also use cycle lanes, bus lanes and pedestrianised areas (helping to avoid traffic congestion).

Three core team members are pushing the vision of Cityshuttle forward. These include Keith Jones (a celebrated engineer with 30 years’ experience), Sam Whitmore (Chief Marketing Officer) and Peter Leshinsky (a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of experience).

How it works

The company makes its money from fares (the GECO e-shuttle “taxi”), digital advertising (the eDooh 86” mobile outdoor screen) and delivery charges (the ePack E-cargo carrier). This offers a diversified revenue stream from three sectors affected by new regulations.

Immediately after the official launch, Cityshuttle generated interest from blue-chip brands for all three models – excited to explore a commercial partnership. About 3 months after that a range of Letters of Intent was amassed, with potential orders valued at over £11m.

More interested parties are giving written confirmation of their interest every week.

The opportunity ahead

Cityshuttle have arrived at the perfect time and in the perfect position. ULEZ is coming into full force throughout London in August 2023. Companies like Amazon will have to invest more into e-cargo (such as the ePack) to meet their climate targets.

The company also has a model range that is ready to go to market. A large assembly plant in Essex puts Cityshuttle in a strong position for scaling up the business – with the capability to deliver 150 units per month.

Sustainable competitive advantage

The founders have a range of solid relationships with supply chain partners (e.g. to source niche components) due to their experience in the industry. Yet the models themselves also offer a strong competitive advantage.

The ePack, for instance, offers a maximum weight of 350kg whilst Amazon’s e-cargo only offers 150kg. The capacity of the former is 6m³ whilst for the latter, it is 2m³. The ePack can also beat the Amazon e-cargo’s 4-mile range with a range extender.

In the Essex factory, the same drive train for all three models enables speed-to-market manufacturing. Moreover, all parts are sourced locally and the units are manufactured in UK – removing reliability on unsustainable global supply chains.

GECO, ePack, and eDooh models surpass the specifications of any known competitor in their respective markets in relation to performance and safety.
